You can meet your 'pendants' over multiple areas or compare them. It's commonly saved, however, to keep just two models of 'pendants' (such as an easy 'pendant' also a chandelier style) lest you produce an incompatible “"lighting" showroom” way.
Trying this height can be difficult, as all position will change. However, as a common control, a "light" should dangle at least 12 to 18 inches under the ceiling level for a typical 8‐foot ceiling. In higher rooms, you should calculate 3 inches or higher for each base so the "light" doesn't seem similar it's abnormally hugging the ceiling.
