Over the years, having a gas range and oven has been the staple set-up in everybody's kitchens. However, the option of keeping a safe and ecological environment has also been on the rise. With kitchen range hoods, safety is never a problem. Today, the range hood has evolved into a wider range of products, with many types and choices to suit your own kitchen.
Once you are done selecting which range hood is best for your kitchen, buying and installing it the right way should be your next priority. Simply follow the included instructions as found in the manual. Most often than not, this means you will have to install the hood at least 18 to 30 inches above the burner.
If you cook top is against the kitchen wall and surrounded by kitchen cabinets, you will want to opt for a wall mounted range hood. These units fix directly to the wall, and above the cook top. If your stove has been installed into a center kitchen unit, then your best option is to buy an island range hood. These hoods are fixed to the ceiling and therefore require a beam within the ceiling to attach to. Whether you choose a wall mounted or island model, both can be bought as a vented or ventless unit.
